Apotek Hotel Reykjavik

Apotek Hotel is a stylish boutique hotel located in the very heart of Reykjavik’s most prestigious shopping, entertainment and cultural district. The historical building formerly housed the pharmacy Reykjavikur Apotek and is widely considered to be one of the most remarkable buildings in Reykjavik.

Guðjón Samúelsson, former State Architect of Iceland, designed the building in 1917. Guðjón built some of Iceland’s most renowned buildings such as the National theater building, Hotel Borg, Akureyrarkirkja church and Hallgrímskirkja church.
Apotek Hotel offers 45 rooms, including eight Junior suites and a tower suite.

Apotek Hotel is located in the center of Reykjavik at the corner of Austurstræti and Pósthússtræti. The hotel is just minutes away from a variety of restaurants, museums and shops. Apotek Hotel is only 7 minutes away from the domestic airport and 45 minutes from the international airport. The Flybus service departs the airport after every international flight arrival. The driver, when asked, will stop at Apotek Hotel. Upon departing the hotel, the concierge will reserve Flybus seats. Taxi and rental car services are also available at the international airport and city center of Reykjavík, Iceland.

Apotek Hotel features 45 luxurious rooms. When designing the rooms emphasis was set on a modern look mixed with a classic touch to match the hotel´s exterior.

The rooms at Apotek Hotel are fully equipped with modern amenities including flat screen satellite TV, telephone, safe and a minibar. Furthermore Apotek Hotel has complimentary WiFi, Nespresso machine, Bluetooth speaker, en-suite bathroom with shower, hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers, toiletries, RB beds, writing desk, iron and iron board and parquet veneered floor in every room.

For those who want an extra touch of luxury Apotek Hotel offers Superior and Deluxe rooms as well as Junior suites and a Tower suite.

Dining
The restaurant Apotek Kitchen + Bar is located on the ground floor at Apotek Hotel. When designing the restaurant emphasis was set on keeping the integrity of the building and its history with a nod to the importance of the kitchen. The result is a modern location offering an entertaining and relaxing atmosphere.

The menu is a fun mix of Icelandic and European cuisine with a smoking hot Argentinean grill. Dishes are designed to be shared and enjoyed together. At the lively cocktail bar the award winning “pharmacists” mix together exciting artisan cocktails to suit every mood; painkillers, stimulants, tranquilizers and even placebos.
